Scan a Planet?

I haven't played the game in about a year. I purchased additional copies for my two boys and am playing with them now. Is there a way to scan a planet? It doesn't seem to work the same way as before. Thanks.

Hey devs. Do you think this or something like it will become a feature? It'd add to the immersion, and from my (albeit limited) POV, it seems like it'd be relatively easy to implement.

Warp station at Sector 0 never turns on

The warp gate at sector 0 (outpost 448) aligns fine when you pay the money, but it never shows the glowing warp gate that you can fly through. Teleporting to the warp gate and manually activating it doesn't work either.
