I think it is both. When you "warp" you are essentially changing "zones" and therefore can't have someone intentionally left behind. I think what I would rather have happens is that person "dies" and has to be cloned. There could also be an "emergency teleport" with a 50/50 chance of leaving someone...

I think what might could help this is AI improvements. Currently when you warp in the AI immediately knows your a threat and begins it's aggressive AI protocol. When in reality the AI should be doing the same thing your doing (ar at least simulating it). In essence they should scan you and weigh the...

After ejecting the core you still have "power" but you have to take it from your AUX, so you Must turn things off to gain a little power. you can then still get your ship around however you are severely crippled without having the reactor power.

These exact suggestions were made several months ago. We will see. I think once warp is engaged you should have to bring the ship to at least 25% throttle to "activate" the warp. This would have to ensure you MUST have engine power and not be overheating.

I think combat in general in both space and ground need some speed balancing. I would like to see more class interdependancies like maybe give a shield to the weapons specialist that can eat a shot or 2 and recharges over time out of combat. well, if you read the entire thread we added game play elements.. random encounters while your in orib.
