For what it's worth, I live in Europe, and have played on the European, North American, and Australian servers with 0 issues whatsoever.

Whether a South American server is planned though I have no idea.

I'd agree with red lights only. Again, on Star Trek, at red alert the siren normally goes off after a couple of seconds, it's only normally constantly on in true emergency situations (hull about to buckle, abandon ship, etc, as is in the game at the moment). As to Pulsar and the whole shields situat...

Indeed, in depth diplomacy is something for the future, there's a lot more pressing matters for the moment.

I suggested red alert mode triggering the ships' actual red alert only as it should be easy to implement, I love this game, and could think of hundreds of suggestions for it. :D

That definitely sounds good to me :)

That I can sit 0.4km underneath another ship, at red alert, turrets aiming at it, at red alert, without the ship batting an eyelid... just doesn't seem right.

I think it would be a great idea for the red alert siren and lights to come on whenever the ship is set to red alert, instead of only when the shields are down and the hull condition is low. A prominent "Hull breach imminent!" warning could come on the ships screens for when the ships shields are do...
