Talent points seem like a good idea for gameplay. But it's simply not reasonable that weapons charge faster or reactor coolant gets used less when the button is pressed. It should be up to SKILL of the gunner and engineer to man their stations to the maximum effect to get the very best out of the sh...

locking pannels to different crew seems like a bad idea to me. A captain shouldn't need to do anything but give orders. and to do that he needs information, so a special screen to show such information would be nice indeed. but locking screens is a bad idea. simply because in a crew you should trust...

i generally like the idea of destructable stuff. the more the better! a spaceship isn't just thrusters, a computer and some guns. everything and anything should be destroyable with consequenes acordingly. So, yes. Put a gravity generator in and let it be blow-up-able!

Well an electrical conduit you may be able to fix relatively quickly from inside the ship. But I suppose for armor plating or a maneuvering thruster or something similar you might need a little... spacewalk :P

if course it would have to be balanced. anyway, even ion engines need something to ionize. thrusters still work by doing thrust. and that means, something has to go out the back at velocity. whether it's hot air (chemical rockets) or ionized gas (ion engine) it's still stuff that you'd have to carry...

actually the reactor is nowhere in the ship. just like the shields. it should be somewhere and shootable.
