I'd love a mode like this. I don't particularly love third person mode for looking around, but first person is not quite right either. What I really want is a "glass cockpit" which makes me feel like I'm sitting at the nose of the ship, but can see more than just a narrow tunnel directly ahead.

It could get really annoying to have to wait a long time for the crew to warp to a new place. So what I'd suggest is a clone bank, which operates quickly, followed by a slow recharge to replenish the remaining clones. So you get 3-4 lives in a given fight, maybe more if the ship has allocated space ...

EVA would be extremely tricky to do based on the way that they've designed the game. Hint: the ship you are on, and the ship the pilot sees? They aren't the same ship. An easier version of this might just be to spectate a player, so you see what they see.

If you spectate a bot, you can then request to take over for that bot. That would solve the issue of joining a "full" game. You can pop in, introduce yourself, and then the host lets you take over seamlessly.

Having more diversified weapon arcs (port side guns etc.) and seperate shields for every side actually sounds like an interesting idea. Given enough alternative reasons for communication would be introduced, I might be alright with scaling down the communication effort for recoil and such. Although...

Weapons&Pilot Don't know if I agree on the recoil.
