i am running pulsar on Ubuntu too. can you try some things.
first downgrade driver to 390 and purge old NVIDIA driver. if you use NVIDIA 390 driver you may need to set cool bits to 4 if your GPU fan is not working.
make sure that you are running Ubuntu on x11 and not Wayland. you can check it on the logon screen, click the gear icon and insure that the Ubuntu option is selected and not Ubuntu Wayland.
try closing discord. try running in open GL mode i found improved over performance. put "-force-glcore" in to steam launch options.
also try Ubuntu 19.04 since upgrading i have found better performance and compatibility as well as less random crashes.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try the OpenGL thing but for the others I can’t because I don’t want use a non LTS release of Ubuntu and lose gsync option by downgrading to 390 driver

Edit: I’m already on x11 and do not use wayland. This is so sad because pulsar is the only game I want to play on my pc but it’s not working for so long. It works on my mac but the specs are not great so I hope someone help me here to fix this issue

try the driver you can reinstall the new one later. it has no ill effects. i have had problems with the new NVIDIA driver on Ubuntu. also have you tried a game reinstall/ verify steam files?

Thanks for the report ggnoredo and thanks FloppyDisk for the assistance!
Sorry for the issues

I would second the suggestion to verify game files if you haven't recently. That is commonly how crash on warp issues have been resolved when reported in the past.

If that doesn't help, we have had similar crashes in the past be an issue with a system file associated with the graphics system. It could be something related to your video card drivers as suggested. Sometimes reinstalling or updating the drivers is enough to get them sorted out if there is an issue.

Also if we could take a look at your player.log file after a crash has occurred it might contain some clues. Instructions for finding that file: http://www.pulsarthegame.com/sending-an-output-log-file

Hope we can help get this resolved soon, sorry again for the issues

Thanks for the suggestions but i already verified and re installed the drivers. In addition i tried to use older drivers but those didn't fix the issue. But forcing OpenGL fixed the issue.
