Hello everyone!

We have added an early version of in-game voice chat. This was an interesting obstacle for us as we wanted it to be accessible for all players (Steam, non-Steam, cross-platform). People have always mentioned that voice chat adds a lot to the experience, so this is our attempt to make it easier for everyone to use!

We’ve added two new enemy drones to the game:

Phase drones will begin to appear at higher chaos levels. They have an ability that allows them to temporarily phase out of existence. This reduces its signatures to zero, interrupts missile lock-ons and makes it invulnerable for a short period of time. The unpredictable nature of this ability, their high shield recharge rates and their tendency to appear in groups of 2-4 should hopefully make this battle a challenging one!

W.D. Deathseeker drones have no shield generators or turrets. A Deathseeker drone’s only form of attack is by its three large sawblades designed to cut through ship hulls. This ship is large, but due to a massive amount of thrusters it’s capable of surprising speed.

We’ve made a number of small tweaks and improvements to the Crew AI. Some of the bigger changes include new functionalities for Pilots that allow them to collect scrap and fly into repair depots when the ship is damaged. Any player can now easily override a bot’s station; this should help players take over their roles when they aren’t performing as expected. We still have a long way to go with AI!

The Community Designed Hub AKA ‘Cornelia Station’ has had an update as well. We’ve put together a potential exterior mesh that’s ready for feedback. We thought it’d be interesting to build it into the side of an asteroid. Feedback is always welcome through comments, the forums or email!

Additions
-In-Game Voice Chat. Allows players to easily talk to other crewmembers without any external software.
-New Enemy Drone Type: Phase Drone
-New Enemy Drone Type: W.D. Deathseeker Drone
-New Save Game menu allows players to name their save games whatever they want and overwrite them at will
-New Sector Type: Minefield
-Pass on Cornelia Station (added all-new exterior)
-Smooth Turret Camera option added to Game Settings menu. This attempts to blend out the ship rotation changes while operating a turret for smoother aiming.
-New setting that can toggle in-game HUD elements in the Game Settings menu. NOTE: This hides the chat box.
-Seasonal masks and decorations have been added; use the “Tech Accessory” option to equip one of the masks if you want to.

Changes/Improvements
-Overview menu allows players to mute other players
-Overview menu now can display players who haven’t yet selected a class
-Players can look down further when not wearing the ExoSuit
-Main turret visuals for charging added
-Bloom effects have been fixed / improved
-Hull armor effects are now applied for ship system damage
-Fog post-process effect has been tweaked. Will allow for smoother fog effects in certain areas as we update them.
-Pilot AI: Can fly to collect scrap in sectors
-Pilot AI: Will try to avoid mines
-Pilot AI: Can fly into repair depots when ship is damaged
-Engineer AI: Can charge the warp drive if no target ship is selected shortly after a warp has been completed
-Engineer AI: Can disable shields when targeted by a repair depot
-Turret Auto-Aim AI and Weapons Specialist AI: will try to shoot down mines
-Players can now override bots at piloting / turret stations easily
-The Setup Joystick Axis menu now allows players to add a fixed offset to the axis (for certain joysticks this may be required). It also shows a preview of the axis value the game will use.
-Mission objectives that require items now can be completed when items are in a crew locker
-In game messages (Level Up, Chaos Has Increased, etc) will not play when joining an ongoing game or loading from a save; they should only play when that specific event occurs.

Fixes
-Fixed input/scrolling issue in the Continue Game menu
-Fixed input/scrolling issue in the Join Game menu
-Fixed bug that caused the fire extinguisher sound to be stuck on in certain situations
-Fixed sound bug that caused exterior sounds to be heard from the incorrect location
-Fixed a skinned mesh issue on female NPC’s
-Fixed a collision issue on a bandit planet
-Fixed a sound issue with the black hole

Holy crap. I had just posted a big review and now it looks like some of it is out of date. Time to get back to testing!

Gigantic hostile flying saws in space, I love it.

Now about Cornelia station, I suggest adding to the exterior a bunch of peaces of material that have no business being there, like pipes the lead nowhere, girders extended out from the body, that sort of stuff.

These chainsaw space ships... finaly a honest reason to move the ship's ass in combat, loving it! :lol:

To much hackers are around who add randomly people. Send me a message with reason why you added me ;)

Wow, good job guys! Impressed with all the tweaks/features/fixes and Cornelia looks good :) me likes

However in-game voice chat doesn't work! Nuuuuu!
