Can kick just ban players from your game?

It's hard in pubs to get good people, but sometimes I don't have people to play with so I make one. If I get a griefer in my game though, I have to constantly kick them since they'll just come back, or add a bot to block them. Sometimes there's mix ups with this I suppose, but it's a bit frustrating for people to just be dicks and I'd have to repeatably kick them for a slot to be open.

Banning griefers would be nice too, but I'm not sure if that's on the radar.

Since we don't have or manage persistent accounts it's a tricky problem to solve. We've been looking into ways Steam integration can help (using someone's Steam ID to prevent them from re-joining games) but we haven't settled on anything yet. I apologize for the inconvenience.

I think a ban feature would be great.
However, I like to add to that there should be a max ban duration of like maybe 3 days.
Otherwise, you end up with people banned all over the place, this would diminish the healthy player base culture going on strong now.

The point of banning is just to keep some specific player from your current game and keep your game nice that way.
Not to ban them for life.

Also, the banning should happen from the host only, not from a central place.
So a file with banned SteamId's and there original time they got banned.
Then have the ban record garbage collected after the appointed duration of the ban is over.

Having options to choose from for banning like 1 hour, 3 hours, 8 hours, 1 day and 3 days would be ideal in my opinion.

I was meaning more like, if you kick someone from your game session, they can't rejoin it. And honestly, if someone comes into the game and starts griefing? Chances are they are going to do it elsewhere, so having people banned for that isn't a bad thing. Current population > potential population.
