I think this would be a fun game to run with Google Hangouts. I don't see any reason not to live stream it if five people go through the effort of getting together to play for a couple/few hours.

I have never really been interested in livestreaming, but for a fun co-op game like this I think it would be fun to see everyone's faces.

I imagine getting five people together to play regularly has the same logistical challenges of keeping a DnD group together. I am interested to know if the endgame will require multiple sessions or if it will be achievable in a single run that takes a few hours. Part of me wants a longer game experience making the gameplay more episodic, but I realize this makes getting everyone together more difficult. Another part of me wants the game to be a bit shorter to encourage multiple playthroughs with different ships. It would also be less painful when you get to the endgame and your ship is destroyed (like in FTL).
