How to find a black hole

Post by drfleetles » Thu Nov 29, 2018 7:07 pm

when I and my friends were exploring the galaxy. we came across a black hole. when we escaped I wanted to tell my other friends who weren't playing about the black hole. we are trying to find one by blind jumping and normal jumping. so I'm wondering. is there a specific place in the galaxy? if so can you give me the name of the black hole or the number.

Hey drfleetles!

Galaxies are randomized at the start of a new game and only a few sectors follow predictable patters (like how outpost 448 will always be sector 0). Black holes are pretty rare, I doubt there are more than 10 in each galaxy.

We don't put any indicators of where they are on the starmap. We believe that if we did it would ruin that moment of surprise and panic or just be avoided entirely.

That being said I certainly wouldn't mind building a mission around visiting a nearby black hole for research purposes! If we end up doing that it could provide players with a reliable way to see one!
