Saitek X52 Un-bindable controls

Post by justinjah91 » Tue Feb 23, 2021 12:00 am

Sorry for the spam, but since these are different issues I decided they needed separate posts.
----------------------------
Bug Report
----------------------------
OS: Windows 10
Game Version: Beta 30.3
Date and Time Encountered (DD/MM/YY, HH:MM (12h format)): 22/02/21, 09:39 PM US Central
----------------------------
Possible Conflicting Software (such as firewalls and anti-virus): None
Severity: Annoying
Description of Bug: Only 1 out of 4 positions (up, but not down, left, or right) on the X52 throttle hat switch can be mapped. When mapping the up position, it is listed as joystick button 19. Perhaps there is a max of 20 buttons in the control settings (0-19)?
Steps to Reproduce: If you have an x52, try mapping the other positions on that hat switch
Possible Workaround: None

Notes: Is this a huge deal, no not really. But since you guys have recently fixed HOTAS detection, I thought you might want to know about this issue.

GPU: Nvidia GTX 1650
RAM: 8 GB
Motherboard: HP Pavilion 570 Slimline 270 Series Intel Socket LGA1151

Thanks for the detailed report and photo

As you mentioned, seems like a limit of 20 somewhere in the input system. I will look into expanding the limit but it might be a limitation of the engine

I completely understand if that is the case, and if it is a hard limit it is not a huge problem. I can work around it

Bug Report
----------------------------
OS: Windows 10
Game Version: 1.18.6
Date and Time Encountered (DD/MM/YY, HH:MM (12h format)): 22/05/19, 01:38 PM PST
----------------------------
Possible Conflicting Software (such as firewalls and anti-virus): None

Severity: Incredibly frustrating and makes use of certain buttons on my HOTAS impossible to use.

Description of Bug: It appears that the Logitech (or Saitek) x52 Pro model HOTAS and possibly the regular x52 model have the front hat on the throttle and the both hats on the joystick mapped to buttons above 20 with the exception of one of the directions on the top hat having access to the 19 button. Without a third party program that lets me remap what physical button is attached to what number (i don't know if this is possible) it seems that i lose functionality of critical parts of my controller in game. I will attach photos of the button layouts for the joysticks so you will see what parts of the controller are rendered unusable by this bug.

Steps to Reproduce: plug in an x52 HOTAS and try mapping any buttons on the hat.

Possible Workaround: None

I have marked the buttons that are above the 20 limit and also the hats that do not work in red on the pro version and the buttons that possibly do not work on the regular x52 in purple.
----------------------------
Notes: I can still fly somewhat okay without the full use my hotas but without the ability to map thrusters moving in the direction of the green and red axis in this image. https://i.imgur.com/usvw2SE.png Is impossible for me rn and limits my ability to fly.

Hello, I have an X52 Pro and I am experiencing the same issues. The only workaround I can find is by using the Logitech Programming software by binding keyboard keys to non-functioning buttons.
