Devlog #22 is up!

Hey guys! Here is this week's Devlog!

We talk all about the alpha and what to expect when it releases! The expected launch date is Feb 25th!
I know it's a little later in the month, and we thank you for your patience, we are working hard every day!

Man me and my friends will play the hell out of this game when it comes out! Can't wait for it :D

On a side note, in the devlog you talked about planets being added later. Will they be randomly generated or more like hubs?

The alpha in February and possibly the game in summer? You sure you've got enough time to lace it with the content? Looking awesome can't wait!!

Love how you do frequent updates, I hate when games go dark!

Since planets aren't a core feature we decided to push them back for a little bit. This way we can take the lessons that we'll learn with the Intrepid and the Colonial Union HUB and apply them to the rest of the ships and possibly the planets. In the beginning the planets may end up more like hubs but we do have plans to randomly create them via sets of variables. I anticipate that the finished game will have a good mixture of random and hand-created planet areas.

Thanks! We are working hard to create some interesting content for the Alpha. We are also planning on adding some interesting challenges which should keep the game pretty fresh. As far as the final release date is concerned, we don't really have a problem pushing it back since everyone who supported us will be able to play by then. However we are doing out best to be efficient with our workflow so we can create content quickly and keep the game interesting and fresh for even the most dedicated of players.

Hang on, I thought the whole idea of the game was to beam down to planets hunting for clues to the location of the Lost Colony and saw the stuff going on in space as the sideline material :shock:

The core feature of the game is the teamwork / crew component on board the ships. Planets, space stations and Hubs acts as locations for trading / exploring and scenarios, all of which may help in the search for the Lost Colony. Since the simplest feature of the game is working together on a starship, that's what we want to focus on first. I'm really excited to make some really cool planet locations though, I think it's going to really help make the galaxy feel alive.
